| After having recorded my little album, which i needed to fund on my own i ended up in a little bit of debt with my dad. But I was so glad to have that support for something i now believe in so strongly. I had Leigh Benson, a friend and great photographer who generously helped me with all the processing of my album cover and booklet - that's taking all the pics doing all the editing and turning my handwriting into a sort of font - pretty cool. I decided not to get any deals done in South Africa seeing as my main goal is to make it in the USA! So i didn't want to have any contractual baggage in South Africa that would stop me getting signed in the US. So with a finished CD and trying to cover my debt with sales at gigs, i started emailing my heart out to the States to try and get a bite... After about 3months i paid off what it cost to make the album and found an amazing record label that seem to have the exact same vision for my music as i do. We seem to believe in one another... so we're in the process of signing at the moment, which is hugely exciting and then maybe i'll get to say a little more.... | |||
